Our morning ritual, rinse and repeat

Every morning, and I mean every frigging morning the Girl wakes me up in the exact same manner.

Girl: (poke with index finger into my arm) Mom!

Me: dead sleep

Girl: (poke) Mom!

Me: dead sleep

Girl: (poke poke) MOM

Me: mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Girl: (poke poke poke) MOM GET UP

Me: mmmmmmmm wha?

Girl: Is it going to be cold today?

Me: Do I look like the weatherman? How the hell do I know?

Girl: You watched the news.

Me: I never listen to the weather.

Girl: You're useless

Now, if this was only once or twice a week, maybe I could manage it. But every frigging morning, winter, summer, spring or fall, she pokes me awake to ask me about the weather. Jebus, kid...look outside the window.

The sad thing is, we have one of those indoor outdoor thermometers and she can easily see what the temp is outside, but no... it's poke poke poke. She's lucky I love her.

Awwww. It's a love ritual. You just know it is. She just doesn't want you to know it.

Then how come my arm is black and blue?

Yeah, I know she loves me. I love her too. But I don't poke her (much!)

tonight, break the cycle. before you go to bed, tape a big sign to yourself that says, "weatherman calls for chance of rain, temps in the 50s"...that oughta shock her out of poking :)
