Is this a joke?

It's April, folks. April... as in April showers bring May flowers. Showers I can handle. This isn't a shower. It's freaking snow. It's been snowing all day long. I woke up and thought I was hallucinating, but no, it's snowing.

Snow is pretty in December. It's trying in February. It's too damn much in March. In April, it's criminal. In 1997 we had 25" of snow in April. That wasn't funny. Today it is warm enough that most of the snow isn't sticking, meaning the roads are clear in my neighborhood.

But my poor bulbs. The crocuses were blooming, the daffodils had formed heads and were just about to burst forth. The hyacinth had poked their heads out of the soil. Even the Siberian iris's were starting to pop up. Now? Covered in freaking snow.

I linked over here through your Lost comments on another blog. I really enjoy all you have to say about it. I love that show but I have little ones and even with TIVO tend to miss all the little things in the show.

Our iris are just now in full bloom...I bet yours will be okay if they hadn't bloomed yet. You could always come down here and sneeze your ever-loving head off and have bulging eardrums with me.

I remember that April Fools Day storm back in 1997 only too well. Just when you thought it was safe...Gotta love New England. I too was surprised and disheartened to see the big, white flakes falling out of the sky. It didn't stick out in my neck of the woods, either, tho.
