We occasionally deign to allow petting

As it gets colder outside, the Worthless Pet tends to sleep through the day hidden in the hall closet. Unfortunately, he's been using my black wool coat as a backdrop and the pockets are now gray. Ah well, such is the life of a pet guardian.

WP has never been Mr SnuggleBuggle. If you're lucky he'll allow you to pick him up for a minute or two before he struggles to be put back on the floor. But very very occasionally he decides that he needs to pretend to like us so we will continue feeding him. Especially this time of year, because nothing is nicer to lay on than the Girl's radiator tummy.

Ah, this is the life!

We've got a cat like that, two of them actually. You can almost hear them say "Okay, I'll let you pet me as long as you keep filling up the food bowl."
