Comment, you poopheads! It's my half birthday.

This is a sticky post and will remain on top for the entire week.

This is the start of the annual de-lurking week founded by Sheryl of Paper Napkin. Sheryl is on a blogging hiatus, but she's still sponsoring de-lurking week.

Last year I wrote a big long post about how delurking is the best thing you could do to help the environment, save the whales, stop the bird flu, and save humanity. OK, I was exaggerating a bit. But if you are a reader and not a commenter, how about a pithy little comment saying who you are, where you're from, and what your favorite cookie is. Or maybe your favorite ice cream. Or both. Whatever.

Write whatever you want.

But write, for goodness sake.

Give me the idea that you are READING and not just passing through. Puhleese? Purty Please? Purty please with a cherry on top?

All I ask is that you leave a comment. Because you have to remember, if you don't comment, you're letting the terrorist win!

I won't let the terrorist win, I tell you!

Well, since I don't want the terrorists to win :-)

So I'm commenting here. As I noted earlier, I do read your blog daily, but normally via it's LiveJournal feed, where you are user whatwas_i_think. I'm looking forward to the promised LJ-Vox integration (not combining into one service, but cross-user-ID recognition).

But now it's your turn. You get to comment, on LJ, on something I post. After all, you don't want the terrorists to win either :-)

Well you got me. I have come and visited from Ellen's blog a couple times. I loved reading your Lost interpretations every week at Ellen's, too. I am Trisha, from the midwest and love my grandma's soft oatmeal cookies.

I never comment but read daily sometimes several times a day and love to hear about the kids and your musings on life. Wishing you all a healthy 2007!

I am sooo with you on this! I've found myself (more often these days), noticing that I have a lot of visitors to my blog, but not enough comments. I have a few "series" that seem to bring em back, but never enough to comment. I love the idea of de-lurking! Bravo!

Hi there! I am a born and bred Hoosier, and my weakness is Reeses' peanut butter cups. I eat them while watching the corn grow.

I like the idea of delurking. I've been blogging for 3 1/2 years and I always wonder who is reading.

Hi! I found you through the Blogger Chicks blogroll that i just got added to. I love the idea of "de-lurking". People SHOULD show the love once in a while. I've got a LOT of lurkers - I can see they are reading by my daily hit count, but so few actually comment. SHOW ME THE LOVE PEOPLE!!!

I'm using BlogMad. I'll give you a tip that might make your blog more readable, at least IMO. Post pictures frequently, even if it's just a stock photo (from http://www.sxc.hu/ for example). This breaks things up and might attract more reading... short posts help too.

De-lurking. Last year at this time there seemed a good chance I would be moving back to Boston, so I was happy to find your blog and got thoroughly hooked. I love reading about your children, especially the Girl--I have a daughter who is 14 also, only she has autism, so it is interesting to me to read about other girls her age and the sort of things they might do. I still find it very difficult to be around girls in real life--they say it gets easier, but I get dry heaves, or cry, or get really angry, it just is really painful for me. But the Girl, she is so sweet and silly and funny and insightful! I love to hear what she thinks and says (the English Channel still makes me smile). Just enough distance, I guess. I also have a son who rather resembles the Boy--brilliant, beautiful, insufferable, profane--although he is only 11, they really look alike. I'd send a picture, but, well, I'm pretty lame...
Anyway, I am very thankful for your blog; through it you have helped a stranger more than you can know, so, all you terrorists, GO SIT DOWN! it's not your turn today!
Thanks, Margolit, from the bottom of my heart.
Simone in MD
oh, yeah--definitely lemon squares!
