Sunshine and a lot of birds #9

The next morning we arose to find another gorgeous sunny California day. Ah, blissfully warm and so pretty. We ate some breakfast and then walked to the very edge of the cliffs to watch the sea mammals on the shoreline below. They were endlessly fascinating, and with my telephoto lense, we could see the hairs growing out of the sea otter's mouths. Too cute.

The animals entertained us until we were hungry enough to go back for lunch. And maybe a nappy poo. Because all that exhausting animal watching had plum tuckered us out. When we got back from our arduous hike (ahem) we noticed that our neighbors had yet to leave their tent. OK, maybe they're late sleepers or something. We didn't much care. But it did seem a tad unusual to go on a trip to and island in the middle of freaking nowhere and stay inside a tiny dome tent. Ah well, each to their own.

That afternoon the wind was picking up a bit. Nothing to strong, just a tad bit windier than it had been all morning. No whitecaps on the water yet, so things were looking good.

Dawn and I played several games of dice, and even some mastermind, and read for a while. We made ourselves dinner, sat out on the picnic table and talked until it was time for bed. We noticed that the wind was picking up a bit more, and Ms. Perfectly Dressed even had to (gasp) take out her contact lenses and put on glasses. Since the only person who saw her was me, I'm not sure why this was such a big trauma, but she made it so. Then off to bed we went, all snuggled into our ridiculously warm sleeping bags in our nice cozy dome tent.

Nag Nag Nag: I'm doing this to RAISE MONEY for Children's Hospital in Boston. Your job is to read, comment, and sponsor me. It doesn't have to be big money, but please... send a buck or two my way, will you?
