McPain: This is bad why?

You all know that John McCain and Sarah Palin (McPain) oppose same sex marriage. You also know that same sex marriage has been legal in Massachusetts for several years, and has recently become legal in California. I understand that the bible has statements about sexual congress between two men. It says nothing about two women, however. I also understand that some people think that because the bible says that two men should not sleep together, that must mean that gay marriage is out of the question. I know that McPain don't care about people's happiness, and that Palin's church believes that it can rehabilitate gays and turn them straight. As if.

But look at this and tell me it's wrong that two people so deeply in love cannot marry. Explain to me why it's wrong to allow two people of the same gender who have been together for years, who own real estate together, live together, raise pets together, share a life together cannot legally marry in 48 states in the USA?

Look at this and see the faces. Look at the love. Look at the commitment. Look at how beautiful they are. Look at the happiness.

Now tell me again why this is wrong?

Thanks for this great post! Why stop people from getting married? I mean, there are a heckuva lot of crappy, abusive, miserable straight marriages, and no one tries to stop those.

Something I hear many anti-gay marriage politicians say is that allowing gay people to marry will undermine the institution of marriage. How? If more people are marrying, doesn't that support marriage? Aren't we telling the next generation that when two people love each other, they get married, not just promise to be together?

Those are some beautiful photographs - I think that we should all strive for happiness no matter what our feelings are.
