WFMW: Halloween Craft

When my kids were little, I made these little treat baskets and lined the front porch with them. I didn't use them as treat bags, but that's what the original plans were. I just thought they were cute enough to decorate the porch with.

Pumpkin Container Craft

Pumpkin Treat Carton

This makes a wonderful container to send home treats after a Halloween party at school, daycare or your home. Or make a few of these special treat containers for your good friends and deliver them while you are trick or treating!

Materials:

An empty 2 L (1/2 gallon) milk carton
Glue or tape,
Scissors,
Black construction paper
Orange construction paper

Instructions:

Print out the template of choice. I made the pieces just by cutting them out of construction paper, but you're welcome to make a template if you're planning to make more than one!

Cut out the pieces out of black construction paper for facial features. This is where you can be creative!

Cut the top off a milk carton and discard the top (or save it for a different craft). You can cut off as much of the top as you like... it depends on how tall you want your container to be.

Cover your milk carton with orange construction paper (it takes about 2 pieces).

Tape or glue the eyes, nose, mouth, leaves and stem onto the front.

Cut out a strip of cardboard or construction paper about 10 inches long and glue to the sides of the container to use as a handle.

Voila!

Those are so cute! I'll have to get crafty later this month. Have you seen www.gothtober.com? It's an internet advent calendar for Halloween? Sometimes it even has craft projects that you can download!
